Have just completed a skateboard press mould for a customer. We upgraded Scoots spindle to an AC 1.5kW ER16. It flies thru timber using 10mm bits. Made two garbage bins full of sawdust on this job. Peter
12-06-2022 Frankenrouter has been coming together and now the base is half built. We call it Frankie Series 1 or Frankie-S1 for short. shaping up to be a good entry level machine kit.

Frankies machine base with ribs. Next its bottom braces and walls have to be added. Its motion parts are on order and on their way!!
An enquiry wants to cut novelty records so I’m test cutting his blank….

Trial cutting PETG record using a 6mm 2F carbide tool

Finished trial looks good. Will play with the chip thickness a bit to improve the edge finish. Will have to make a vacuum clamp to do the profile…
Sold Brevis-S2#1 last week, so I have started reassembling Brevis-S2#2 for selling. Improving the saddle stiffness and changing the controller is the main change. Then I shall assemble Brevis-S2#3 into a full kit. Once they are sold I shall build Brevis Series 3 which will be a little bigger and use some in-house cast composite parts….
We have a few enquiries for Scoot which is great and the electronics cost hasn’t gone up this year which is excellent. Unfortunately freight has gone up but so far not too much… This year I want to complete the cast carbon fibre test program and get Milli, the 7 axis robot project started. Enquirers want to make Covid Screens, Records, guitars and bread boards…. Novelty records are an interesting application. Keep making! Peter

Scoot-S2 has been making parts for some time now. Cleats for the shelving system, brackets for the washroom and some engraving for the Men’s Shed. Its main purpose now is to make moulds for the Frankenrouter project. Frankenrouter will use all the surplus parts I have from old builds.
Well its nearly Christmas 2021. Been an interesting year with Covid and changing work patterns. You’all out there have a safe and very Happy Christmas.

Cutting a rebate on Scoot-S2
Scoot is now the flagship model for Tetra Motion. Demand is for the bigger machine so it will be developed further. 2022 will see Series 3 introduced that makes the machine slightly bigger, to optimise sheet usage better and a billet machined aluminium saddle will replace the steel fabricated one, to make assemble easier.

Scoot-S2 foundation parts have been trial fitted and all looks good! Late next week I pick up the structural parts and its all go to making sawdust.
YaG has been its development project name but now its a production item its been decided to call it Scoot. Scoot No1 is being built here in Murwillumbah and Scoot No2 is being built by a client in Sydney.

Scoot our new Flagship router in build
09-05-2021 Been busy finishing the shed drainage and getting YaG/Scoot on the go again. Have sourced the 5 axis motor controller and have had a request for a big router to cut building panels. Diversion – My ear muffs broke so I fixed then with some carbon fibre…

Fixed with carbon fibre – another couple of layers and it will be better then new!
Here’s the new controller being fitted into YaG. Just fits!!

5 Axis controller in YaG#1
YaG is the development project name. It shall be called Scoot in production… ScootNo2 is being built by a client right now.
06-04-2021 – Since this website was set up its had intermittent problems with receiving emails. I apologise to those who think they have been ignored in the last year. Today it was fixed properly and 100 emails came through!! So I’m working through those now. Best regards Peter
Yag is coming along and the new workshop is now functional. So much more stuff to do!!
23-11-2020 – The workshop is now powered up and I have started moving tools and equipment into it. The YaG build is coming along and the motion parts should arrive in 2 weeks. Milli the new mill is coming along also.

YaG’s machine base
28-09-2020 – Been a while for some news. The machine base parts for YaG get picked up this week. Been a few hurdles with commercial work being very busy and building a new bench for YaG, plus the new workshop is rising…

The roof goes on this week, WOW. Soon Tetra will have a proper workshop and office!!
18-05-2020 – Start work on building YaG600 this week. Order the ply for the bench and the machine base next couple of days. Nearly checked all the holes and threads. Once checked can send out RFQ on parts…. The shed is underway! 7 weeks to a new workshop…

27-02-2020 – We’ll we didn’t break ground last year. Needed to get a retaining wall engineered and we’ve had flooding rain so no groundwork could be done. But we now have the wall engineering and its very close to go. Peter

11-11-2019 – Here’s a piece of Tetrium that will become motor mounts. If your interested in a piece to play with I will make 100x100x15mm sample billets available. Send me a note with your address and what you want to do with it and I’ll send you a billet. Tetrium Info Sheet.

06-11-2019 – Maximus part costs are in and I’m working on the price list. I also have developed a material I’m calling Tetrium. This is similar to Epoxy Granite but can be machined on routers. It’s an epoxy, metal fibre and carbon fibre composite. I’m setting up an information page for this material at the moment. Tetra Motion will sell blocks of it to machine builders to build damp and stiff machine parts from. Tetra Motion is also designing a new kit benchtop mill and it will be made from Tetrium.
